But first

We launched a show on YouTube!! Female Founder World is quickly becoming the most engaged business platform for women. The podcast is a big part of that. We’ve topped the charts multiple times and have had some of the smartest women on the planet share ideas, trends, and tactics to help us better understand what matters in business, money and entrepreneurship today, and what actions to take to get ahead tomorrow. Now, we’re producing this series as a show, with video and visual elements to help you learn, get inspired, and be entertained during every episode. Watch it on YouTube or Spotify, and listen to the same audio version you already know wherever you get podcasts.

P.S. I’m on my way to LA to have Tezza Barton on the show. The new episode drops Thursday!

TIKTOK: Michael Grimes, the investment banker who handled Uber’s IPO and Twitter’s takeover, and advises Elon Musk, might now be tasked with managing a TikTok sale that could keep it operational in the U.S. Remember how Trump signed an executive order in February mandating the creation of a sovereign wealth fund that could potentially buy TikTok? Well, Michael Grimes is now expected to lead that new U.S. sovereign wealth fund.

CONTENT: Tower28 created a sketch series to launch a new blush. They’re the latest consumer brand to launch a scripted and serialized show like this, as the competition to hold customers’ attention online continues to ramp up and demand higher quality content from brands. I’m betting we’ll see a lot more of this in 2025 from consumer brands—and that reality TV producers will start getting calls from CPG leaders.

SHOPIFY: Shopify released a new feature that will build a custom store theme for you based on few text prompts.

MONEY: TaskRabbit’s former CEO, Stacy Brown-Philpot, raised $172M for her new venture fund, Cherryrock Capital, focusing on underinvested entrepreneurs.

BEAUTY: The indie beauty startup that got Taylor Swift’s attention, Fazit Beauty, is collaborating with e.l.f. Cosmetics and has landed in Target. (Listen to their founder on Female Founder World.)

WELLNESS: Sporty and Rich founder Emily Oberg just launched a sexual wellness brand called Sensual Sport.

HIRING: Dianna Cohen named Elaine Choi, her long-time right-hand woman, as CEO of Crown Affair. Winky Lux has also appointed a new CEO, Lauren Bloomer. Their co-founder, Natalie Mackey, will stay on as Creative Director.

BEAUTY LAWS: California is working to pass a bill to make it illegal for minors to purchase anti-aging skincare (think: retinols, vitamin C, and AHAs).

Content ideas to help you build in public

This is for all of you showing up as the face of your business, and all of you who aren’t, but want to be. Right now at Female Founder World we’re kicking off the planning for our two big Summits this year in LA and NY, and one of the most impactful ways we attract sponsors and sell tickets is by turning the behind-the-scenes process into content. Every time I post, we see a spike in enquiries and ticket sales. It simply works, and I want you to commit to focusing on it, too.

Here are some quick ideas for your own posts this week.

đŸȘ Share something you learned from a customer IRL or in your DMs.

đŸȘ Roll out a whiteboard or screen as a visual hook for a series that gives a bts look at your business. Launching a new product, creating a campaign or rebranding? Try this format to share the process.

đŸȘ A two-image carousel that tells a before-and-after story about your business. Like, “mom I’m quitting my college to start a beauty brand” and then follow up on the second slide with your proudest moments since making that decision.

đŸȘ A photo diary-style blog of your month, day or week.

đŸȘ Michelle Hu, the founder of Etoile, is a great person to follow for inspiration on how to create regular day-in-the-life vlogs.

March 10 at 5:30pm ET with Mia Plecic, founder of Slick Hair

Mia Plecic was frustrated with fly away hairs that no gel or hairspray would solve. She found a simple hair stick that could slick down her hair, and white-labelled it to launch in Australia. With $500, she created ‘Slick Hair’, applying labels by hand and sharing her discovery to TikTok. Then one morning not long after launch, Mia woke up with $40,000 in sales and knew she needed to take this business to the next level. Thaat was back in 2019—today Slick Hair’s in 5,000 stores across the world.

Mia is joining the Female Founder World group chat tonight to answer your questions in a live business coaching call for paid Business Bestie members. Download the Female Founder World app for the best experience. Besties, we’ll have a recording ready for you in your dashboard if you can’t make it live.

We made you three new phone wallpapers

I can’t wait to see some of you this Wednesday night in New York to celebrate International Women's Day and Women's History Month. We’re connecting and chatting with local founders over a 'Business Bestie Speed Networking' session. It’s going to be fun, intimate, and vibey. There are couple of spots open, so reply to this email if you would like to come. The team will pick a couple of business besties at random and share back a confirmation if you’re in. We have really limited space for this one, but will make sure there’s room for all of us at our next Female Founder World Summit. đŸȘ
